How to put a board on a TV
Which way is quickest depends on the TV, not on you. Find yours below and follow the steps.
Before you start
Open your board on your phone and press Put on a TV. The page asks Which TV do you have? and opens the way that suits your phone.
Casting is the only way that lets you put the phone down afterwards, apart from a TV’s own browser. Mirroring uses your phone as the screen.
The page lists one fold for each kind of TV and opens the one that suits your phone first: an iPhone starts on Apple TV and AirPlay.
Chromecast, Google TV, or a TV with Chromecast built in
Use an Android phone with Chrome, on the same Wi-Fi as the TV. An iPhone cannot cast from a web page, so use one of the other ways below.
- Open your board in Chrome and press Put on a TV.
- Press Cast to a TV.
- Choose the TV from the list. The board is on it in a few seconds, and you can put your phone down.
Apple TV, and AirPlay TVs
Many Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio and Roku TVs take AirPlay. The TV shows whatever your phone shows, so keep the phone on the page and plugged in.
- On your iPhone, open Control Centre and choose Screen Mirroring.
- Pick the TV, then come back to your board’s TV page.
- Press Show the board on this screen.
Fire TV, Samsung, LG, or a computer on HDMI
These have a web browser, and that is the way in. Nothing needs installing, and you can put your phone down afterwards.
- On the TV, open bravopin.com/tv. It shows a square, and six characters under it.
- On your phone, scan the square and choose your board. Or open your board’s TV page and type the six characters.
- Press Show it on the TV. The board appears within a few seconds.
A TV you set up this way from your own board stays yours: it appears under Your TVs on the board’s TV page, and one press on Show this board changes what it shows within ten seconds.
You can rename a TV or forget it from your account page. A forgotten TV stops showing your boards until you open bravopin.com/tv on it again.
If it does not work
A square on the TV runs out after ten minutes. Press Show a new square on the TV, and scan again. If the characters do not work, check them against the TV and try again.
For any other TV that can mirror a phone, use your phone’s own Smart View, Screen cast or Cast, then press Show the board on this screen. Make sure the phone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi.
Your board, on the biggest screen in the room
Make a board, then follow the steps above for your TV.
